PetSmart Charities Announced Its Largest Philanthropic Gift Ever Made to Any One Community: $14 Million To The City of Los Angeles

PetSmart Charities celebrated the announcement of their largest philanthropic gift ever made to any one community at the Party for the Pets event held August 26, 2007 at a private estate in Hancock Park, Los Angeles.

PetSmart Charities Executive Director Sue Della Maddalena announced the initiative.  Two-time academy award nominee Carol Connors performed the song “Unconditional Love, Unconditionally” which she wrote as the PetSmart Charities new fund-raising video theme song. Deal or No Deal’s Leyla Milani and a bevy of other beauties from the show, Kate Linder (The Young & the Restless), Renee Taylor (The Nanny & According to Jim) & Charlene Tilton (of “Dallas” fame) were some of the stars who attended. Loni Anderson, Barbara Eden, Diane Ladd, Valerie Harper & Marilyn McCoo also support the PetSmart Charities cause. Pets were adopted to good homes and a silent auction was held to raise additional funds. All 200 guests left with a plentiful gift bag which included NUBAR’s Sexy Red nail lacquer, a favorite of Carol Connors who showed her “Sexy Red” polished nails off at the event!

PetSmart Charities creates and supports programs that save the lives of homeless pets and raises awareness of animal welfare issues. Since 1994, PetSmart Charities has donated more than $52 million to animal welfare agencies, and, through its in-store adoption programs, has helped save the lives of more than 3 million pets.
